The Quads....are COMING!!!! by Lew

Okay, maybe not today, but possibly on July 22, 2008...yeah, the day I predicted, as in tomorrow! Really didn't think that would happen, and really, really, didn't want that to happen. So, like the day after we let our guard down and begin to think that August 7 is in the clear...boom, in she goes!

So, based on what I've indicated so far, obviously our appointment this morning could have gone better. Baby B must have gotten really pissed off at someone in there and decided it wants out!

The Dopplers on Baby be were in the 8 to 9 range, about double last weeks. The main concern, a positive identification of no diastolic flow, and that is not good. Baby A, C, and D had Dopplers in the 4s. It was a bit tough for me to log all the numbers as Aiden and Cale were with us...

The good news, the estimated weights of The Quads are very close, indicative of continued growth since our last appointment (about a month agao). Baby A ~ 2 lb 3 oz; Baby B ~ 2 lb 4 oz; Baby C and D ~ 2 lb 6 oz. That is great news! Just shy of a pound in a month!

So, Tonya was out with the kids playing with their friends all morning while the doctors, hospital, etc. were trying to get ahold of her to get her into the hospital. Everything is extremely hectic right now, but it sounds like they want her in the hospital so they can monitor the babies. We don't know any details other than that. Basically, she went 30 weeks and 1 day, and she could go the distance. But Baby B needs some TLC so Tonya will be on bedrest in the hospital.

I'll say it for you all - HOLY SHIT!

So, if anyone wants to get in touch with me, feel free. I will do what I can to talk, text, etc. If you don't know my cell phone, call someone that does. I will also do what I can to keep posting blogs, but I can't guarantee anything yet. Again, we really don't know details. I would not recommend trying to contact Tonya via her cell phone. Contact me and we'll go from there.

I will try to post something tonight as we should have a better idea on what gives after we get into the hospital and talk with the doctors.

I am excited. I am ready. I don't think Tonya is ready. I say bring them out. If there are any signs that shit is going bad, get 'em out!

On the other hand, we still need to figure some stuff out, which will no doubt make me shake more than I already am...

I guess I will have to decide on some names tonight...

Finally, to get to this point was a huge deal. We could not have come this far without all the thoughts and prayers from our wonderful network of family and friends. Thank you all so much for everything you have done for us. It was quite a ride. At times, it was very scary and trying, but, for lack of a better term, it was neat. It truly was a blessing. I mean what, like 1 in 6 or 9 million pregnancies are quads. Tonya loves carrying babies and God could not have picked a better mom to carry this crazy gift of quads.

Well, I think I have to go - something about Tonya being in the hospital? I feel like I should be more worried. But I'm actually smiling. Really, I can't wait.

And believe it or not, I'm kind of at a lack of words and intriguing statements right now...

Oh, and maybe if you all wouldn't mind, look up and ask The Man if he would be so kind as to continue to keep a watchful eye over Tonya and The Quads, we have been touched by him for 30 weeks and 1 day and I just want to make sure he doesn't take his eyes off of Tonya and The Quads...

Amen and God Bless,
The Lewandowski's

T & Lew-
I read your blogs every day, and have teared up a lot in the past few (thanks for that-you both are amazing!). You two, your boys and your Quads are lucky to be a family- I will be thinking of you all and saying a big fat prayer for your health and safety- please keep us posted and let us know if there is anything (besides prayers) that you need.
Take care-
Scott & Leigh Garrison

I'll be praying for a safe delivery of those babies and also for T. Don't be afraid to reach out for help from all your friends and loved ones in the next few weeks. They love you and want to help anyway they can. God Bless

Hey guys! I'm so excited for you! Hopefully Baby B will be able to tough it out a LITTLE longer....if not, those other 3 will just have to deal with it.

Extra prayers going your way for Tonya and the babies (and the rest of the fam).

Love from KS,
Moni

Way to go, Tonya! Mike and I will be sure to broadcast the news at the HUP race on Wednesday. I am sure that they remember your great racing ability (and last year's numerous swims in the river).
